A heart-warming video began with a driver seeing a large brown & white dog lying-lifeless on the side of the road with five little puppies desperately trying to nurse from their dead mother.

The lady in the car, a skilled vet, quicky stopped, rushed to the back of her van, grabbed her medical kit and quickly placed an oxygen mask over the dog’s nose. Working passionately to revive the dog, amazingly several minutes the dog began to take small breaths. She then gave the dog a vital injection and shaved her leg to start an IV. Miraculously, life had returned to her!

All the while, the little puppies were still desperately trying to nurse from their mother, but sadly one precious little pup passed away. Breaking the Dog-Samaritan’s heart, she wrapped the little puppy in a pink towel and lovingly buried the little dog near where her mother had been stricken ill.

The reason I am sharing this with you who may have taken time to read it, is that inside the human heart and spirit, as today’s scripture reminds us, that this compassion is instilled inside of us from the heart of God. This story profoundly touched me and it reminds all of us that life is precious and fleeting.

Friend, we’re all here on this earth to treasure and show kindness to each other, to be conscientious of those we are entrusted to care for but also to the animals who also are so dependent on us - like that precious mother-dog who would never have come to life again without the compassion of that compassionate veterinarian.

I hope this story has blessed you and has been as meaningful to you as it has been to me.

Each day we all make about 35,000 decisions. Some are minor - like what socks you’re going to put on - but others are major like 'will I accept that new job offer?' Regardless, along the way there are other decisions that we can choose to open a door that we know we should not go through, but we do so anyway.

Each time we choose to open the door to temptation, there is always a 'promise' that on the other side it will satisfy something we think we want - yet the opposite is always true.

You see, this is exactly how Satan works. The promise is that 'Your Sin Will SATISFY,' — and the Bible even says that in Hebrews 11:25 saying that there can be enjoyment in sin for a time, but afterwards there is always also a price to pay. This can be in self-guilt, embarrassment, public shame, physical harm, or even legal consequence.

Friend, in this mortal, fleshly life, temptation and sin will always be with us. The challenge we all have each day is recognizing that one or more of those 35,000 decisions may be asking us to open a door that we know we should not. As today’s verse reminds us, we need to be careful how and where we walk and do so WISELY.

What door will you choose to not walk through today?

In an on-line world of VPNs, private chat-rooms and encrypted messages, many think that surfing the web in 'Igcognito Mode' is a private way to look at what we don’t want others to know about. That may work in principle — but not in practice.

As the words of Jesus says in today’s scripture, nothing is hidden from God. Not only is it seen, instead Revelation 20 verses 11 & 12 says:

“And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it,
From whose face the earth and the heaven fled away;
and there was found no place for them.
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God;
and the books [of 'incognito'] were opened:
and another book was opened, which is the BOOK OF LIFE:
and the dead were judged out of those things
which were written in the books, according to their works.”

Friend, NOTHING is hid before the Almighty! Do not fool yourself! All people who have done sinful things in 'secret' will become known and presented before God at the Great White Throne of Judgement EXCEPT for those whose names are written in the Book Of Life.

...but the good news of the Gospel is simply this:

All those who honor God, repent and turn from their sin and confess Christ as LORD have their names written in THE BOOK OF LIFE.

So, which book is your name in?

Or do you choose to keep that Incognito?

If you saw a sign that said 'ONE WAY' and went in that direction your journey will be safe because ignoring it would be foolish resulting in injury - or even death.

Jesus also said that there was ONE WAY to eternal life, that he was that way, and that way is through His cross. Although just as clear as that road sign, instead of heading this sign to safety, as 1 Corinthians 1:18 says for some it appears instead to be FOOLISH, but like that road sign, if ignored it would also result in peril.

This 'One Way' sign of the Gospel is not God’s intent to scare anyone, but to point all that will heed it to give them safe passage from this world to the next. The Bible says that God desires that NO ONE PERISH but that ALL arrive safety in eternal life and that 'Sign Behind The Sign' of “ONE WAY” is the Cross of Christ on Calvary.

God’s loving, urgent plea is to follow Him to go in that direction, because when you do, your soul, life, and safety in eternity is assured.

Friend, will you heed this sign... or does it seem FOOLISH to you?

(It is never too late while in this life to go towards God.)

The most emotionally painful part of divorce is the effect it has on children. Many years ago, while my children were all very young my little daughter asked me a heartbreaking question.

“Daddy, why can’t you and mommy get back together?”

I was emotionally paralyzed for a moment not knowing what to say, but God gave me an answer far beyond my own wisdom.

I asked her, “Maria, have you ever seen a broken egg?” She nodded her head, looking curiously for an answer.

“Well, sometimes mommies and daddies are like a broken egg, and you Just Can’t Put A Broken Egg Back Together.

Relationships can become like today’s verse. They can start off well - like Saul was with the young future-king David with respect and admiration - and degrade to a point where one person is full of bitterness and trying to ruin the other.

So yes, like a broken egg, what once was may NOT be repairable. However, regardless as today’s verse exhorts, it is vital to put wrathful feelings behind. Just as God has forgiven our debts of sin towards him, as the Lord’s prayer says: “...as we forgive our debtors.” (Matthew 6:12)

Friend, reconciliation may not be possible, but forgiveness is something we all must do to be truly free and NOT hold All Malice.
