Biden Expands Background Checks on Private Sales
Joe Biden recently announced an expansion of background checks on private sales of firearms. His claim is that this will cut down on crime. This of course, is baloney. The real reason is, it’s a further attack on the private ownership of firearms, and the Second Amendment of the United States.
This is known as the so-called “gun show loophole”. Gun shows only amount to about 8-tenths, of 1 percent of firearms used by criminals. The real effect of this, would be to require background checks on family gifts, private sales among friends, and even a loan of a firearm to another person. It is just the further weaponizing by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) of private firearm ownership. This is not a law passed by congress, but an administration’s rule, designed to get around congressional oversight. I expect this rule to be challenged in court.
85-Year-Old Idaho Woman Fatally Shoots Home Intruder In ‘Heroic’ Act of Self-Defense
County prosecutors stated that Christime Jenneiahn committed a “justifiable homicide” after she shot and killed an armed burglar, 39-year-old Derek Condon, who handcuffed her to a chair and threatened to kill her multiple times.
On March 13th at around 20 a.m., a burglar wearing a black ski mask and military jacket, aimed a gun and flashlight at Jenneiahn, striking her on the head. Condon then handcuffed her, forcing her to the living room at gunpoint. He asked about her valuables while handcuffing her to a wooden chair. He put his gun to her head when she said she didn’t have much, but that she did have two safes downstairs. He left her handcuffed in the living room, while he searched her house in multiple rooms for her valuables. She dragged the wooden chair in which she was handcuffed into her bedroom and grabbed her .357 Magnum handgun from beneath her pillow. Back in the living room, she hid her firearm between an armrest and a cushion.
Condon came back to the living room and threatened to kill her once more.
“She ultimately made the decision that it was ‘now or never’ and drew her concealed 357 magnum, striking her assailant with both her shots. Condon opened fire again, hitting Jenneiahn several times in the abdomen, arm, leg, and chest with a 9 mm pistol. Still wearing her handcuffs, Jenneiahn collapsed and lay on the floor for roughly ten hours until her son came upstairs in the late hours of the morning, and then 911 was called. Condon was found in the kitchen, where he died of his gunshot wounds. One less predator off the streets!
“This case presents an easy analysis of self-defense and justifiable homicide,” Prosecutor Jolley reported. “It also presents one of the most heroic acts of self-preservation I have ever heard of.” If this happened to you, would you be able to handle it as well as this 85-year-old lady?
Biden's Border Policies Lead to Surging Gun Sales in Southern California
We all know that the Biden is doing his best to keep Americans from exercising their Second Amendment rights. What a lot of us don’t realize is that his failure to secure the southern border is leading to a surge in gun sales in California. Why is that? It’s because of a surge and steady stream of illegal immigrants has many citizens increasingly concerned for their personal safety.
After Texas made it much more difficult to cross its border with Mexico by implementing razor wire and boots on the ground, more migrants started making their way to California. The border patrol in California saw an increased daily average of 1,200 migrants crossing into the San Diego region illegally during the week ending on Feb. 4, while migrant crossings in Texas’ Del Rio border area dropped to just 200 a day the week of Feb. 4 — compared to the 2,300 daily crossings in December, according to government data obtained by CBS News.
Even though buying a gun is an expensive and time-consuming process in California, and carrying one lawfully is an even bigger ordeal, many citizens say that the huge influx of illegal entries increasing on the streets has forced their hand.
The Bible is Alive
The Bible is God’s Word to us. It’s a written narrative God told through humans about His character, and His plans to save and restore humanity. And because it is inspired by God, every section of Scripture has the power to counsel, convict, and change us.
Think about a time when you’ve felt your mind being renewed, or seen some area of your life transformed. If you regularly read or listen to Scripture, you’ve experienced its power to inspire, encourage, and even challenge you.
The Bible is more than a history lesson. Although it is retelling what God has done, it’s also showing us what God will do. It is revealing a story that God has been unveiling throughout history; a story He wants to continue to tell through us.
God’s Word has moved in the hearts of people since the beginning of time, and its inspiration has led to the transformation of cities, nations, and continents.
So this week, let’s celebrate how the Bible is alive and active in our world by looking at the narrative God has been telling through Christians throughout history—a narrative that showcases the Bible’s ability to pierce darkness, bring hope, restore lives, and change the world.
