Most of my friends are nervous and fearful about the turn of events in the U. S. since Biden and the Dimocrats took over Washington. In my own case, I tend to be more optimistic for several reasons:
1. The Dims always overreach and pay for it later. Remember Gingrich?
2. I see an upswing in individual states asserting their sovereign rights.
3. I hear Joe Manchin and another senator saying they will in no way vote to eliminate the filibuster. As long as the filibuster rule is in place, the Dims can't make DC into a state.
4. The Republicans are gaining new house seats in several states.
5. The house is the most closely divided in years.
6. The Senate is split 50-50 with Kamala Harris breaking ties.
7. We have several excellent "America First" candidates rising to the top in prep for 2024.
8. Even California has enough signatures to recall its socialist governor.
9. I don't believe the propaganda machines that are saying the U. S. is embracing socialism. Leftists have two firm beliefs: they believe in "the big lie"; and they believe that "the end justifies the means." This is the source of their overreaching.
10. They di have one advantage over America Firster. They're activists. Conservatives tend to be, well, conservatives. We get embarrassed if we're too open or vociferous about our beliefs, except with each other, of course.
11. Even though Lincoln said, "America will never be conquered from within, only from without," I don't believe this desperate, "cheating" attempt by the Dimocrats will succeed.
