"The religious leaders constantly gave Jesus a hard time. They challenged things He did and things He taught. He even had to defend doing good when it broke rules they were rigid about. The religious leaders were big rule-makers. What got lost in their world full of rules was love and concern for others - exactly the thing that was tops in Jesus' world! He cared about people much more than man-made rules. The religious leaders could not allow themselves to be flexible enough to put people above rules. How are you doing with that?" (See Luke 6:9).

Good morning. Be a Christ follower. (Illustrated Words - Apr 22)
"Follow the leader is a fun childhood game. It's fun when it's a game, but as you grow up you start following someone you want to emulate. Some people do follow somebody - even if it's unconsciously. But problems develop when you choose to follow someone who leads you away from God. Jesus knew that people are followers so He gave simple instructions... follow Him. That leads to peace and happiness." (See Luke 5:27).

"What do you want from Jesus? Must you see miraculous answers to your prayers or incredible blessings in your life before you will believe in His love and care for you? Can you love Him through the difficult times or the seasons when He seems to be silent? Can you love Him for what His word says about His care for you? He loves you. He will take care of you. He will provide your needs. Can you trust Him enough to love Him through the silent times... through the hard times, when there are no miracles?" (See John 4:48).
