Hello, I am Jim Hughes, Warrior for Christ, Mended Heart Survivor, former Elected Official and currently a System Engineering Director and PC Gamer. Thank you for taking a moment to meet me here online.
Born in rural NW Wisconsin, grew up on our family dairy farm until around 11 years old. I then started a Fuller Brush Sales Area, later around 12 years old became a Watkins Dealer, to be followed by other sales and financial roles which lead in my late teens to expanding into bovine genetics, insurance intermediary, and then on to become Technology Business Owner in the mid-late 1980's.
Just before meeting my wonderful wife Sue of whom I married nearly 30 years ago, I started into the Technology Sector opening my own Computer Stores. Today our family is 6 kids and 9 grand kids blessed.
Through-out this experience I have been awarded several industry awards and achieved a great amount of higher education -- from Lantastic Technician, to Windows Programming Expert, to A+ technician, to MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), and then RHCE Training (Linux Engineer) with other varying degrees/certifications from Microsoft Office to TCP/IP Engineer to Digital PBX , in all, nearly 25 years of higher learning.
In the mid-late 1990’s I moved to the Chicago land area with the world’s 3rd largest computer distributor and largest white-box manufacturer in the world. In the late 90’s I accepted a position as Product Engineer with a local Chicago Land White-Box computer builder, while there as lead Product Engineer we developed the world’s first AMD Athlon 64-bit desktop computer for AMD. The system design was the world’s fastest desktop computer (at that time) and became highly awarded including editor’s choice of the year.
In 2004 founded as the Senior member (partner), Chief Executive Officer, and Product Development Director CitrusMicro.com. We grew to be North America’s largest Hospitality wholesale distributor and largest ViewEra (high performance and security) Monitor distributor in the World.
In 2009 started doing Community Service serving on the Winfield, IL Riverwalk committee -- 2011 ran for public office, server as Winfield Trustee 2011 to 2015 -- Today I am Deacon, Systems Engineering Director, and PC Gamer.
I believe deeply in the power of positive thinking and the choices we make in our lives along with attitude decisions we each choose to be -- Very driven and realize that life is an ever-ending education of new knowledge and how important it is to listen well while keeping an open mind.
