I do support President Trump allowing South African whites in America as refugees because of discrimination against them in South Africa. Some opponents against bringing in white South Africans will argue that whites own more land per capita than blacks in South Africa. However, there are many poor whites in South Africa. Other opponents mention the evils of past apartheid as a reason not to allow South African whites. However, the younger South African whites cannot be held responsible for apartheid in the past. Apartheid in South Africa was ended 31 years ago. The South African whites that the President is allowing in are law abiding citizens. I do favor the U.S. and other republican countries allowing other refugees who have been discriminated against also.

Today in the western world it is April Fool's Day. The worst fools are those who used to be devout Christians but have left the faith. How can they claim to be opposed to rape, but are willing to risk going through far worse in Hell? They cannot negate Hell by not believing in it any more than someone could eliminate hurricanes by not believing in them.

Even though we have disagreements with the compromises that Speaker Mike Johnson has made as speaker, nevertheless the Republican conference should either elect him as Speaker or elect a temporary Speaker to represent the House in the counting of the electoral votes. A Speaker may be needed in case of a dispute in the counting of electoral slates. We have not had a case of having a counting of electoral votes without a Speaker before. It may be possible for the Clerk of the House to swear in the members of the House and represent the House in the counting of the electoral votes. But we prefer to have a Speaker of the House and we want to make sure that Trump's election is certified by Congress on January 6 so he and JD Vance can take office on January 20.
