I do not condone dressing up as ghoulish characters for Halloween. This includes ghosts, devils, witches, vampires, and Kamala Harris.
On November 3, 2024 at 2:O0 AM local daylight time most of the United States, Canada, and all of Cuba will be setting their clocks back an hour and go back to Standard Time. Baja California Norte, Mexico and areas of Mexico bordering New Mexico and Texas will also turn their clocks back one hour. Arizona outside of Navajo Nation and Hawaii do not turn their clocks back. In Canada, Yukon and most of Saskatchewan do not turn their clocks back. There are also a few other isolated parts of Canada that do not change clocks. This preserves daylight in the morning at the expense of an hour of afternoon daylight.
There have been many attempts to end the clock changes, but they have not taken effect yet. Many state efforts are conditional on neighboring states joining them. Federal law allows states to go to year round Standard Time, but not year round Daylight Time. The Sunshine Protection Act which would put most of America on year round daylight saving time has 54 co-sponsors in Congress. There has not been a bill introduced in Congress to put all of America on year round standard time.
I received my ballot in the mail today. I voted in the Presidential election in the 3rd Congressional district in Washington state. Washington state is a mail-in state, although most conservatives prefer those who can get to polls on election day be required to vote at polls. I voted straight Republican and voted for all candidates recommended by the Cowlitz County Republican Party that I can vote for. I will be dropping my ballot in a county owned ballot drop box.
Seven states allow the option of putting a single ballot mark for straight ticket voting which allows for voting for all candidates of a single party in all general election races with one candidate of that party on the ballot for a election race. Washington is not one of those states. It would have saved time if I had a straight ticket option on my ballot. Washington has a top two primary which has the top two candidates in the primary advance to the general election. All the partisan races that I voted on had at least one Republican on the ballot. There is a Cowlitz County Commissioners race with two Republicans listed.

I do not accept the belief that America would be better off if the European people did not explore and colonize the Americas.
